Long shafted Co-Phenylcaine Flexi-Nozzles are now available from Medisource

The new long shafted Co-Phenylcaine Flexi-Nozzle is now available from Medisource. The new Flexi-nozzle is CE marked and like the standard length Flexi-Nozzle has a shaft that can be easily moulded into the desired shape.

Co-Phenylcaine Flexi-Nozzles are recommended for single use only.

Reports of a single Co-Phenylcaine Flexi-Nozzle being used repeatedly have raised the issue of cross infection potential. To reduce this risk single Co-Phenylcaine Flexi-Nozzles are not included in any pharmaceutical product that dispenses more than one single dose. The standard nozzles are available in packs of 50, and the long shafts in packs of 25. 

Biofilms can be produced by bacteria on an array of suitable surfaces including plastic and silicon tubing. Biofilm producing bacteria can be resistant to cleaning fluids and common sterilising fluids through formation of a mucus like coating that protects the bacteria from disinfectants. It is therefore important to use nozzles once only. There are many biofilm producing bacteria, including Staph. aureus.
